 Hawaiian activists expect the U.S. “State of Hawaii” is about to unleash its law-enforcement agencies, backed by national guard troops and assets, to forcefully destroy the encampment of thousands of Hawaiian activists trying to protect the summit of their sacred mountain from being desecrated by the construction of giant telescope being paid for by powerful foreign interests. Leaders of the peaceful and orderly tent-village that sprang up two months ago, issued an alert through press releases and social media of the imminent attack by the “State of Hawaii.” The grassroots protectors have been opposing the telescope project for the past 10 years. Having exhausted all legal remedies in the courts of the “State of Hawaii,” Hawaiians set up a peaceful encampment on the access road to the mountain preventing construction from proceeding. Leaders of Ku Kiai Mauna (Protectors of the Mountain) call upon all Hawaiian patriots and supporters worldwide, to express their support for the peaceful stand to protect Mauna Kea, not only because of the sacredness of the mountain and concerns of serious environmental damage, but ultimately, the lack of lawful authority of the “State of Hawaii” in the Kingdom of the Hawaiian Islands, a sovereign, independent nation in continuity. Hawaiians say that their Kingdom of the Hawaiian Islands continues to exist as a sovereign, independent nation, and the United States’ presence in the Hawaiian Islands amounts to an illegal occupation and a criminal enterprise based on piracy.   |
